Thesis.Science education department.. Post graduate program. Surakarta.sebelas Maret University, 2009. The purposes of this research were to find out: (1) the differences in student’s achievement between the groups of students with STAD Model that applying torso and animation media. (2) the differences instudent’s achievement between the students having low, medium, and high basic achievement. (3) the interaction between the learning model and the students’ basic achievement in their learning achievement of biology. This study was conducted to thestudents of SMPN 1 Sidorejo Magetanin the academic year of 2008/2009. Experiment method with factorial design 2 x 3was used in this study. The population of this study was the students of SMPN 1 Sidorejo Magetan, while the sample was the students in two classes of VIII class of SMPN 1 Sidorejo Magetan. The first experimental class was taught by applying torsomedia, 128 while the second experimental class was taught by applying animation media.The data of student’s achievement were collected using an instrument test of basic achievement and achievement test. Thedata collected was then analyzed using 2 x 3 ANAVA. The results of the analysis indicated that (1) there is a significant different (P=0.00) in Biology achievement between the groups of students taught by applying STAD Model with torso and animation media. (2) there is a significant different (P=0.00) in Biology achievement between the students of low, medium, and high basic achievement. (3) there is a significant interactions between learningmodel and students’ basic achievement to Biology learning achievement.(P=0.00)
