    Abstract

    The aims of this research are to evaluate : 1). How far is the plan of practical instruction program with PBET model being done in the field / laboratory?, 2). What are the problems in the realization of this program?, 3). What steps are used to solve those problems? The research is done in two campuses at different location. They are ATMI Surakarta, at Mojo street no.1 Karangasem, Surakarta and ATMI Intercamp atAdi Sucipto street 9.5 km, in Blulukan, Colomadu, Karanganyar. They are chosen with the consideration that the practical education activities in the first year are held in campus 2 and the practical education activities in the second and third year are held in campus 1. The method used for this research is evaluation of the program realization. The sources are gotten from some informants who can give accurate and responsible information, such as: Assistant Director of Practical Education, The Head of the Faculty, The Head of Industrial Machine Technique's department, The Head of Mechanical Workshop, and the Instructors who are also part of practical study process, as well as the students themselves. The other sources are practical learning-teaching activities process and also some documents needed for this research. The data analysis technique is by applying the data source in the field, then reducing data is needed on which data can be edited, then arranging and setting the data and making a summary and data verification. The technique of collecting data is by doing observation in the field, interview the informants, and taking from some documents. The research result can be concluded that: 1). Actually, the realization of the PBET (Production Based Education and Training) practical instruction models in ATMI Surakarta, has been worked as it is planned, 2). The realization of the program has been worked fluenly and get the result optimally, 3). The evaluation of the study is made objectively and transparent. After that the PBET (Production Based Education and Training) practical instruction models in ATMI Surakarta still relevant for anticipating the pursuit of job market, especially to prepare the students on to the working world.
