    Abstract

    Two kind of animal feed consist of forage and concentrate. Concentrate have an expensive price so for problem solving it can substitute with waste agriculture there are rubber seed meal cause more cheaper and have enough nutrition. Rubber seed meal as animal feed nessarry to research because it have enough nutrition but also have compounds with toxic composition such as HCN. This experiment intends to evaluate the effect of substitution concentrate with rubber seed meal at different level toward dry and organic matter digestibility of male New Zealand White Rabbits. It has done in the Hall of Breeding and Cultivation of Rabbit, Agriculture Department, which located in Balekambang, Surakarta. It held from November 20th until Januari 18th 2007. This experiment used 24 male New Zealand White Rabbits, which divided into four treatments and three replications, each replication used two rabbit. This study used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one way classification. Ration was given peanut straw, BR2 concentrate produced by PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia and rubber seed meal. The treatment feed were P0 concentrate without rubber seed as control, P1 Substitution of rubber seed 12,5 % from concentrate, P2 Substitution of rubber seed 25 % from concentrate P3 substitution of rubber seed 37,5 % from concentrate.The research variable was used dry matter consumption, organic matter consumption, dry matter digestibility, and organic matter digestibility. The research result, the data for dry matter consumption (gram/head/day) of P0, P1, P2, and P3 respectively were 95.66; 95.58; 96.82; and 94.00. Mean while, for organic matter consumption gram/head/day for P0, P1, P2, and P3 were 88.33; 88.51; 87.68; and 88.03. Next, for dry matter digestibility (%) the data were 76.49; 76.94; 76.93; and 81.04. Then, for organic matter digestibility (%), the data respectively were 82.65; 82.79; 82.46 and 85.63. Variance analysis showed that concentrate substitution with rubber seed meal that supplementation by Na2S2O3 until 37,5% was nonsignificantly different. The conclusion of this research is rubber seed meal can substitute BR2 concentrate until 37,5 % without give influence to digestibility.
