    Abstract

    This research aims to find out the influence of flooding and concentration of plumbum (Pb) to the growth and Pb uptake of Azolla microphylla at different soil chemistry character . The research used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) factorial with three treatment factors, they are: soil type (Vertisols and Entisols), water level s (0; 2; and 7 cm) and Pb concentra tion s (0; 200; 400; 600; dan 800 ppm ). There are 191 grams of Vertisols or 200 grams of Entisols that can pass to 2 mm s hieve , put in to the pot and then stagnanted according to the water level treatment. A gram of Azolla microphylla was spread in to the p ot and a gram else was incubated for three weeks. The observation was done in 1, 2, and 3 weeks after planting. The variable observed were: Azolla microphylla biomass, Pb- uptake of Azolla microphylla , available -Pb, visual symptom of Azolla microphylla . The data was analyzed statistically by Kruskal Wallis test at 5% level, followed with Mood Median test and Correlation test. The result of the research shows that flooding has significant effect to Azolla microphylla growth ( P = 0,051 ), while Pb concentratio n has high significant effect (P = 0,000). The influence of flooding and Pb concentration to Pb uptake has high significant (P = 0,000). The soil chemistry especially CEC at both soil type has not significant effect to Azolla microphylla growth (P = 0,051) and has significant effect to Pb uptake (P = 0,001). Treatment combination giving best growth to Azolla microphylla at both of soil type is 2 cm of water level with Pb concentration 0 ppm. Treatment combination giving best uptake at both of soil type is 7 cm of water level with Pb concentration 800 ppm. The maximum of Pb concentration giving best growth Azolla microphylla is 400 ppm with doubling of biomass 0.403. Keywords: A. microphylla Concentration of P b Flooding Pb uptake
