Using an interpretive approach, the respondent becoming research object would be comprehended methodologically and the communication behaviour occurring on crosscultural family would be described. For supporting the interpretive approach, the research used a phenomenological tradition focusing on someone’s experience including other’s experience, so that crosscultural communication theory would be easier to understand. The research object was intermarriage families with various variation and background. This aims to make comparison in searching and disclosing each individual. Then some findings would be obtained, thereby can contributes to the crosscultural communication in intermarriage context. Dealing with crosscultural communication problem in intermarriage context, the stereotype may affect the big family assessment on someone who would be the life partner. The kinship relation among Chinese ethnic is very tight, so the family’s opinion is always taken as consideration in decision making. The intermarriage couple needs an extraordinary commitment, so that any types of misunderstanding can be solved easily, including when each party makes an adjustment in order that the marriage can proceed and get the green lamp from the big family. From this effort, it is obtained the similarity between Javanese and Chinese ethnics. The second problem is personal or individual background of the intermarriage doer. Majority couples deciding to do intermarriage should have an open thinking pattern to the culture their partner brings in, including belief, value and norm. If the two parties do not have open thinking pattern, there will be any desire forcing to practice the belief, value and norm their partner holds, thus it will make the eternal marriage impossible to reach. Finally, the social and cultural values of intermarriage family will be very prominent if it is put into the context of problem and conflict solving. Every decision made to solve the problem is hardly not based on personal emotional decision due to cultural background, but rational decision that can be used as the solution.
