    Abstract

    The aims of this research are to find out: 1) how the economics learning is implemented at State Senior Secondary School 1 of Bae, Kudus as an Independent School; 2) what constraints are encountered in the implementation of the economics learning at State Senior Secondary School 1 of Bae, Kudus as an Independent School; and 3) what efforts are taken to deal with the constraints in the implementation of the Economics lerning at State Senior Secondary School 1 of Bae, Kudus as an Independent School. This research used a qualitative approach. It was conducted at State Senior Secondary School 1 of Bae, Kudus, and its subjects were all of the Economics teachers of the school; in the implementation of the economics learning. Its data were gathered through in depth interview, observation, and document analysis (content analysis). The data were then successively analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The analysis of the data from the data reduction to the conclusion drawing were done along with the data gathering. In order to assure that the data were valid, the data source triangulation was executed by comparing and rechecking the confidence level of the information which was obtained along different time and different gathering tools. The results of the analysis are as follow. 1) The Economics learning manifested in learning design, learning implementation, and learnig evaluation has been implemented. 2) Its implementation, however, has severel weaknesses or constraints; the time allotted for the Economics learning process and the facility to support the learning process such as learning media are limited, and the ability of the teachers to apply the required learning methodology varies. 3) To deal with such constraints, the school has tried to motivate the teacher through certain training activities, conduct counseling activities, and provide various learning media. Based on the result of the analysis, a conclusion is drawn that the Economics learning has been implemented, which is manifested in the learning design exrcuted by the teachers individually and/or in group through the learning evaluation, but not all of the elements of the learning design are accomplished. The Economics learning and the learning evaluation vary. Even, the latter is implemented differently from the one mentioned in the learning design. The result of the research has an implication that all of the Economics teachers of State Senior Secondary School 1 of Bae, Kudus should improve their professionalism so that the matters instructed to the students conform the ones mentioned in the learning design that they previously made.
