    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Andreas Pontjo Djoko Wibowo, S850809203. THE EFFECTIVENESS OF JIGSAW COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODEL PRECEDED BY RESITATION METHOD AND WITOUT BEING PRECEDED BY RESITATION METHOD TO MATHEMATICS LEARNING ACHIEVMENT OBSERVED FROM MOTIVATION TO STUDENTS OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN MADIUN in the Academic Year of 2010/2011.Supervisor: 1). This research is aimed to know: 1) Which is better, learning to use Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model preceded by Recitation Method or the one using Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model without being preceded by Recitation Method in mathematics. 2) Which provides a better learning achievement among students who have high, medium, or low category of motivation in learning mathematics. 3) The difference in academic achievement with Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model preceded by Recitation Method and Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model without being preceded by Recitation Method in high category of motivation. 4) The difference in academic achievement with Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model preceded by Recitation Method and Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model without being preceded by Recitation Method in medium category of motivation. 5) The difference in academic achievement with Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model preceded by Recitation Method and Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model without being preceded by Recitation Method in low category of motivation. This research is carried out in Madiun Municipality in the Academic Year of 2010/2011. The sampling technique is carried out by stratified cluster random sampling. Samples are the students of SMAN 3 Madiun, SMAN 6 Madiun, and SMAK St. Bonaventura Madiun, each consisting of one class as the experimental class and one class as a class of control. The number of samples are 209 students overall. The instrument used for data collection is questionnaires are students' learning motivation and learning mathematics achievement test. The test instruments are carried out at SMAN 6 Madiun with the number of respondents 70 students. The analysis uses two-way analysis of variance with unequal cells. The results of research are: 1) Learning mathematics using Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model preceded by Recitation Method provides a better learning achievement than using Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model without being preceded by Recitation Method with. 2) The students who have high category of motivation provide a better learning achievement than the students who have low category of motivation with. 3) Learning mathematics using Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model preceded by Recitation Method proves that students’ achievement is better than Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model without being preceded by Recitation Method approach on students with high category of motivation. 4) Learning mathematics using Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model preceded by Recitation Method proves that students’ achievement is better than Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model without being preceded by Recitation Method perpustakaan.uns.ac.id digilib.uns.ac.id commit to user xviii approach on students with medium category of motivation. 5) Learning mathematics using Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model preceded by Recitation Method proves that students’ achievement is better than Jigsaw Cooperative Learning Model without being preceded by Recitation Method approach on students with low category of motivation.
