    Abstract

SAMSUDDIN SIREGAR. The Difference of Teaching Method Effect and Movement Ability to The Basic Technique Skill of Playing Volleyball. Thesis. Surakarta. Post Graduate Program of UNS, July 2008. The aims of this research are (1) to know the difference between the effect of reciprocal teaching method and self check to the basic technique skill of students volleyball playing; (2) to know the difference between high and low movement ability to the basic technique skill of students volleyball playing; and also (3) to know the interaction between teaching method and movement ability in influencing the result of the study of basic technique skill in playing volleyball. Based on the aims of the research above, this research used experimental method with 2x2 factorial designs. The population of this research is all the male students of 2007,VIII class of MTSN (Madrasah Tsanawitah Negeri) 2 Medan for 56 students. As the sample is 40 students. The research variables covered 3 (three) variables, namely: Independent variable (Reciprocal Teaching Method and Self Check Teaching Method), Atrribute (High Movement Ability and Low Movement Ability) and Dependent variable (Volleyball Basic Technique Skill). In collecting the data, Barrow Motor Ability Test (Johnson and Nelson, 1986) is used to measure the movement ability and in analyzing the data, AAHPER Volleyball Skill Test Manual (Strand and Wilson, 1993: 136-141) which consists of passing test and down serves test is used to measure the volleyball basic technique skill. ANAVA 2x2 variants analysis with the significance level α = 0,05 is used to analyze the data . The conclusions of this research are: (1) There is significance difference between reciprocal teaching method and self check teaching method to the volleyball basic technique skill where the reciprocal teaching method has high result compared to self check method because F count = 8,41 > F table = 4,11. (2) There is significance difference between high movement ability and low movement ability to the basic technique skill of playing volleyball where the students with high movement ability have high result compared to the result of low movement ability because F count = 6,78 > F table = 4,11. (3) There is interaction between teaching method and movement ability to the basic technique skill of playing volleyball. This is Shown by Fcount = 13,90 > F table = 4,11. Based on the average results (x) of each group, shows that students who have high movement ability will more suitable if reciprocal method study is given to them, and students who have low movement will more suitable if self check is given to them.
