    Abstract

    Agus Sri Mulyanto. ”The Correlation between Teacher Professional Competence and Teacher Self Concept with Performance of Teacher of Level Fith of Elementary School in Grogol Sukoharjo Regency 2008/2009. Thesis Educational Technology Study Program Graduate Program, Sebelas Maret Univercity, Surakarta 2008. The objectives of this research are into find out the correlation between (1) teacher professional competence and performance of teacher (2) teacher self concept and performance of teacher (3) teacher professional competence and teacher self concept with performance of teacher In line with research objective, the researcher employed a descriptive and correlational study, the research variables were divided into two , that is the independent variables X 1 (teacher professional competence ) and X2 (teacher self concept ) and dependent variable Y (performance of teacher) .The population of this research were all full time teacher of level fith of elementary school in Grogol Sukoharjo Regency.The sample of the study 38 teachers are not selected because in this reseach is used sensus sampling/total sampling.The data about teacher professional competence, teacher self concept ad performance of teacher were collected with questionarnaires. The instrument validity was tested using item validity employing Pearson’s Product-Moment Formula. Meanwhile, the reliability of instrument was tested with Alpha-Cronbach Formula . The research data were then analyzed using correlation and multiple regression technique with prerequisite test covering normality test with Sample Kolmogorov Smirnov Test, linearity test with F test, and independentcy test with colinearity statistics. Result of data analysis at the significant level a = 0,05 show that (1) there is positive which significant correlation between Teacher Professional Competence and Performance of Teacher ( rcount > r table or 0,824>0,320) and (tcount > t table or 8,728 > 1,72 ) (2) there is positive which significant correlation between teacher self concept and performance of teacher (rcount > r table or 0,864>0,320) and (tcount > t table atau 10,293 > 1,74) and significant correlation between teacher professional competence and teacher self concept with performance of teacher (rcount> r table or 0,887>0,227 and (Fcount > F table or 58,384> 3,26) 17 From the result of data analysis, it can be concluded that (1) based on the results of data analysis, it proved that there is positive which significant correlation between teacher professional competence and performance of teacher with effective contribution 23 % (2) there is a positive which significant correlation between teacher self concept and performance of teacher with effective contribution 54 % and (3) there is a positive which significant by together with teacher professional competence and teacher self concept with performance of teacher with effective contribution 77 %. This indicates that the two variables can be used as good predictors for performance of teacher
