    Abstract

    Esti Rubiastuti. S. 810207005. 2008. The Effectiveness of the Implementation of Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) Instructional Method on Students` Mathematics Achievement Viewed from the Elementary School Student Motivation in Kedungrandu, Patikraja, Banyumas. Thesis : Postgraduate Program, Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta. The aims of the research are to find out : (1)The difference of the implementation of STAD Instructional Method on student` Matematics achievement . (2)The influence of the high and low motivation on students` Mathematics achievement. (3)The interaction of the influence of instructional method iplementation and students` motivation on student` mathematics achievement. The research was conducted in the Elementary School in Kedungrandu, Patikraja, sub district academic year 2007/2008. The research method used is experiment method with a 2X2 factorial design. The population of the research is the sixth grade students of elementary School in Kedungrandu, Patikraja ,Banyumas. The samples of research were 80 student. The instrument used for collecting data are the test for mathematics achievement and the questionnaires of the achievement motivation. To get the accurate result of the test for mathematic achievement and the questionnaires for achievement motivation, the instruments are tested it`s validity and reliability. Technique of Product Moment correlation from Pearson is applied in order to find out validity and Kuder Richarson formula 20 (KR-20) is applied in order to find out the reliability of the Science test. Meanwhile, Alpha Cronbach formula is used to find out the reliability of the achievement tes. Meanwhile, Alpha Cronbach folmula is used to find out the reliability of the questionnaires for the achievement motivation. The technique of analisys used is Analisys of Variance (ANOVA) with significance level of α = 0,05. The Results of the research are as follows : (1)There is a significant difference of influence in implementing STAD instructional method on students` mathematic achievement (F 0 = 14,964 > F t = 3,97); (2)There is a significant difference of influence between the high and low students` motivation on student` mathematics achievement (F 0 = 51,130 > F t = 3,97); (3)There is no signifycant interaction between the use of instructional method and the students` achievement motivation on the students` mathematics achievement (F 0 = 51,130 > F t = 3,97). Based on those findings. The writer concludes that the students` mathematics achievement can be improved through an exact instructional method and improvement of the student` achievement motivation. The improvement of STAD by paying attention.
