    Abstract

    Hermawan Surya D, G0005111, 2009, THE INFLUENCE OF NONI FRUIT (Morinda citrifolia L) EXTRACT TOWARD THE LEVEL OF SGOT AND SGPT ENZYME OF WHITE MICE INDUCED BY CARBON TETRACLHORIDE, Medical Faculty, Sebelas Maret University. Noni Fruit (Morinda citrifolia L) is a well known crop in the society. It is known for its content which are proxeronine and some antioxidants (e.g. : ascorbic acid and beta carotene) that function to maintain and improve cell function. This research used hepatic cell, considering the vital function of the hepatic organ in the body. The purpose of this research was to know whether noni-fruit extract can reduce hepatic cell damage induced by CCl4. This research was included into laboratory experimental research and used completely randomized experiment design. The samples, which were 25 male white mice (Mus musculus) type Swiss Webster age 3- 4 months and weigh 20- 30 grams, were divided into 5 groups. The first group was the CCl4 control group, in which white mice were given toxic dosage of CCl4 11mgram/ 20 gram BW without noni extract treatment. The second group was the Treatment 1, in which white mice were given noni extract dosage 0,56 gram/ 20 gram BW during 8 days and in 8th day were given toxic dosage of CCl4 11 mgram/ 20 gram BW. The third groups was Treatment 2, in which white mice were given noni extract dosage 1,12 gram/ 20 gram BW during 8 days and in 8th day were given toxic dosage of CCl4 11 mgram/ 20 gram BW. The fourth group is Treatment 3, in which white mice were given noni extract dosage 2,24 gram/ 20 gram BW during 8 days and in 8th day were given toxic dosage of CCl4 11 mgram/ 20 gram BW. The fifth group is Negative control, in which white mice were only given water and daily food during 8 days. Blood samples from all white mice were taken after 24 hours to determine the level of SGOT and SGPT enzyme. The result was analyzed by using one way anova statistical test, which is continued with post hoc test and tukey test. The research showed that noni extract dosage 0,56; 1,12; 2,24 gram/ 20 gram BW given per oral could reduce SGOT level 214,48± 48,804; 151,16± 22,811; 169,62 ±44,891 U/l, compared with positive control of CCl4 that was 296,62± 59,254 U/l. While SGPT level became 55,42± 4,292; 54,34± 6,896; 58,58 ±8,210 U/l, compared with positive control of CCl4 that was 83,96± 2,931 U/l. Key word : Noni extract, SGOT and SGPT level, CCl4
