    Abstract

    The objectives of research are : (1) To find out which one is the better, the mathematicslearning achievement of linear equation system (SPL) subject matter using the Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model or using direct learning model, (2) To find out whether or not the mathematicslearning achievement of students with high learning motivation is better than the ones with low learning motivation in the subject matter of linear equation system (SPL), and (3) To find out whether or not there is an interaction between the use of learning model and the student’s learning motivation level on the mathematicslearning achievement in the subject matter of linear equation system?. This study was taken place in SMA Negeri in Tulungagung Regency during August-December 2009 period with the population of tenth gradeof SMA Negeri in Tulungagung Regency in the school year of 2009-2010 of 2945 students consisting of 10 SMA Negeri. The sample of research consisted of SMAN 1 Kedungwaru, SMAN 1 Kauman and SMAN 1 Pakel of Regency Tulungagung. Of each school 2 (two) classes were taken as the sample divided into 1 (one) class as experiment group and 1 (one) class as the control group. The research sample was obtained by combining stratified random sampling and the cluster random sampling. The data collection was done using questionnaire, test, and documentation techniques. The questionnaire instrument validation was done using content validity and internal consistency. The test instrument validation was done using content validity, while the test reliability was tested using alpha formula and item analysis (Anava) wit different cells. The conclusions of research are : (1) The students mathematics learning achievement using the Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model is better than that using direct learning model in the subject matter of linear equation system, that using direct learning model in the subject matter of linear equation system, (2) The mathematics learning achievement of linear equation system subject matter of the students with high learning motivation is better than that of the students with low learning motivation, and (3) There is no interaction between the use of learning model and the student’s learning motivation level on the mathematicslearning achievement in the subject matter of linear equation system.
