    Abstract

    Generally, the objective of company is to keep the company’s sustainability in order to be able to develop and to improve continuously. In order to achieve that objective, the company should be able to market product it produces maximally. Distribution activity is a part of marketing activity. In the presence of distribution, the product can reach the consumer. For that reason there is a need for an efficient distribution activity in marketing product in order to increase the sale volume. The objectives of research are to find out the distribution activity the company undertakes, the distribution cost determination, distribution cost change, as well as to find out the extent to which the distribution cost affects the sale volume in 2005-2009 period. From the result of research, it can be found that in implementing its product distribution process, the company employed direct distribution channel. Meanwhile, the determination of distribution cost is based on the location distance of customer. From the existing data, it can be found that the highest level of distribution cost change occurs in 2006 of -33.13%, while the lowest one occurs in 2009 of -20.38%. From the existing data on distribution cost and sale volume, the author makes a data analysis to find out the efficiency level of distribution cost on the sale volume. From the processed data, it can be found that in 2005 the distribution cost efficiency reaches the highest level of 33.93%, while the lowest one occurs in 2009 of 1.51%. From the data on calculation result, it can be concluded that the distribution cost highly affects the sale volume the company obtains. When the company can minimize the distribution cost, the sale volume the company obtains will increase. Otherwise, when the company cannot minimize the distribution cost, the sale volume the company obtains will decrease. Key Word : Distribution Cost, Sale Value
