    Abstract

    One of the effort to eliminate Dengue Haemorhagic Fever is by controlling it’s vector, Aedes aegypti. The cinnamon has a potential natural larvacide. The aim of this research is to know the larvaciding effect of essential oils from the bark of cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) against Aedes aegypti larvae. Type of this research is eksperimental laboratory using post test only control group design. The subject of this research are Aedes aegypti larvae which on instar III stages as much as 600 larvae that divided into 1 control group and 5 treatment groups of essential oils: the concenration of each group are 25 ppm, 60 ppm, 95 ppm, 140 ppm and 240 ppm. Each group contains 25 larvae and reply for 4 times. Assesment is done 24 hours after the treatment and accounting the ammount of the death larvae. The result of this research were analyzed by One Way Annova statistic test with α = 0,05 and show the value is significant (p = 0,000; p < 0,05). Then continued analyzed by Least Significance Difference and show that there are significant difference among the treatment groups (p = 0,015, p = 0,000; p < 0,05). The statistic result of Probit Analysis found that LC (Lethal Concentration) 50 % = 73,19 ppm and LC 99 = 156,38 ppm. The conclusion of this research is the essential oils fom the bark of cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) has a larvaciding effect for Aedes aegypti larvae with LC 50 = 73,19 ppm and LC99 = 156,38 ppm.
