    Abstract

    Rahma Mafaz Cholishiyyana, R0107073. 2011. THE EFFECT OF COUNSELING TO THE LEVEL OF PREGNANT WOMEN’S KNOWLEDGE EXTENSION ABOUT CHILDBIRTH IN NGORESAN HEALTH CENTER, SURAKARTA. Diploma IV Midwifery Medical Faculty of Sebelas Maret University Surakarta Background: Demographic and Health Survey Indonesia in 2010 the maternal mortality rate 226 / 100,000 live births. Causes of maternal death in childbed of 31.24%. Low level of knowledge about childbirth is a factor contributing to high maternal mortality Objective: this study aimed to determine the effect of counseling with the level of knowledge of pregnant women about childbirth. Methodology: this research used experiment quarsi design, with one group pre test and post test and simple random sampling technique. Total sample were 34 pregnant women who cheked her pregnancy in Ngoresan Health Center. Every pregnant women was given knowledge questionnaires about childbirth. Then those data were analyzed used paired t test techniques with SPSS 17 for Windows. Research Findings: the results of data analysis with paired t test showed the value significancy (p) of 0.000 (P <0, 005). Conclusion: there is a significant effect between counseling with the knowledge level of pregnant woman about childbirth. Keywords: Counseling Of Childbirth, Pregnant Women, Knowledge level
