    Abstract

    SRI RETNO WULANSARI. X7407081. THE APPLICATION COOPERATIVE LEARNING TYPE OF NUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER (NHT) TO IMPROVE THE LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT OF BEING COOPERATIVE WITH COLLEAGUE AND CUSTOMER SUBJECT IN THE OFFICE ADMINISTRATION X GRADERS OF SMK KRISTEN 1 SURAKARTA. Thesis. Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education Faculty. Surakarta Sebelas Maret University, July 2011. The objective of research is to improve the learning achievement of being cooperative with colleague and customer subject using Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type of cooperative learning in the Office Administration X graders of SMK Kristen 1 Surakarta. This study is a Classroom Action Research. The object of research was the Office Administration X graders of SMK Kristen 1 Surakarta consisting of 34 students. This research was carried out in the collaboration between the class teacher, researcher and involved the students. Techniques of collecting data used were observation, documentation, questionnaire and test. The research procedure include: (1) problem identification, (2) action preparation, (3) action plan arrangement, (4) action implementation, (5) observation, and (6) report writing. The research process was carried out in two cycles, each of which consisted of four stages: (1) planning, (2) acting, (3) observing and interpreting, and (4) analyzing and reflecting. Each cycle was done in three repetition, with 6 x 45 minutes duration for each cycle. Considering the result of research, it can be concluded that there is an improvement of learning achievement of XI P 1 graders of SMK Kristen Surakarta using Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type of cooperative learning. It is reflected by the following indicators: (1) Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning method can improve the student learning achievement. Based on the result of student work in the first cycle, it can be found that 25 students or 73.5% has met the KKM and 31 students or 91.17% in the second cycle. There is an increases by 17.65%. (2) the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning method can improve the student achievement motivation. It is indicated by the increase in percentage student learning motivation in the first cycle of 71.14% and then in the second cycle it increases by 9.7% to 80.84%. (3) The Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning method can improve the student participation. It is indicated by the increase in percentage student learning participation in the first cycle of 60.58% and then in the second cycle it increases by 13.53% to 74.14%. The improvement occurs after teacher takes such attempts as: (1) Teacher has managed the class well, (2) teacher realize the importance of an evaluation on learning process to cope with well any weaknesses, and to prevent the weakness from occurring in the next learning.
