    Abstract

    The purpose of this study were: 1) Determine the effectiveness of student learning through cooperative learning model types Talking Stick, 2) To improve learning outcomes in the subjects of statics by pursuing cooperative learning model types Talking Stick in class X TGB at SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta. This study is a classroom action research (classroom action research) conducted in two cycles. Cycle I begins with the identification of existing problems in the classroom, planning the steps of the preparation of learning through the use of cooperative learning models Stick talking type, the implementation of the action, observation, evaluation, analysis and reflection for action on the cycle II. The subjects of this study is action research as a giver, teacher statics, WKS as the subject of considerable assistance in planning and data collection, as well as class X TGB SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta academic year 2010/2011, amounting to 34 students as research subjects who received the action. Data obtained through observation of cognitive, affective and psychomotor students, interviews, observation of students, cognitive tests and cognitive tests I cycle II cycle. Data analysis techniques using the interactive analysis techniques. In the classroom action research was conducted two cycles, cycle I the percentage effectiveness of student learning is 58.82% and cycle II was 76.47%. For the percentage of student learning outcomes in the cycle I is 64.70%, and cycle II is 88.24%. The conclusion of this research is the application of cooperative learning model types Talking Stick can enhance the effectiveness of student learning and learning outcomes of students in class X TGB Building Skills Program SMK Negeri 2 Surakarta in the subjects of statics increased.
