    Abstract

    Siti Nurhidayati, IMPROVING IMPLEMENTATION WITH LEARNING METHOD FOR IMPROVING DRILL and RECITATION of the ACTIVITY and STUDENT LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT (Case Study In Class X Subject Statics TKK 2 SMK N 2 Sragen). Thesis, Surakarta: Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Sebelas Maret Surakarta, University, July2010. This study aims: To determine the increase of the activity and X-class student achievement Wood Construction Engineering 2 SMK N 2 Sragen in subjects with the implementation of statics Improving Learning through Drill and recitation methods. This research is an action research Classes / Classroom Action Research (CAR), which is qualitative. Research conducted at SMK N 2 Sragen and sources of data in this study were the students of class X Wood Construction Engineering (TKK X 2). And as the research subjects were 34 students. Implementation of actions that have been committed from: Dialog beginning, this action diawalai with a conversation between researcher and subject teachers statics about the real conditions that occur while statics class was held. First cycle, after receiving a complete description of what happened during the lesson statics, researchers and teachers of the subjects of statics agree to make initial plans before the learning took place, after it is enough with the initial preparation step in the next step the implementation of learning which refers to the initial plan have been prepared. Ongoing learning is observed by the researchers about the state of the class, students liveliness, the way teachers teach that will become an observation data and notes - little notes that occur during the learning progress. Will be held at the end of the cycle of reflection on the stages - the stages that have been conducted to find the weaknesses during the learning take place later on and will become a reference in the next cycle in order to achieve excellence in teaching statics. The results of this class action are (1) can enhance students' learning activeness it can be seen from the results of action that is a) liveliness asked reaches 41.18%, b) answer questions activeness reached 52.94%, c) work on the problems in front of the class reaches 23:53%, d) doing practice questions reached 88.23%. (2) can increase student achievement by absorption in each cycle is the cycle I was 66.18%, on the second cycle was 76.91%, and in cycle III is 78.82%. Implementation of the conclusions of this study Improving Learning with Drill and recitation methods can improve students' achievement Activity and Class X-2 Wood Construction Engineering SMK N 2 Sragen.
