    Abstract

    Natalia Susanti. EXPERIMENT STUDY OF MATHEMATIC USING NHT METHOD IN THE SUB MATERIAL OF PHYTAGORAS ON THE SOLID OBSERVED FROM MATHEMATIC LEARNING MOTIVATION OF THE 8 th GRADE STUDENTS OF SMPN 1 GEMOLONG SEMESTER 1 ACADEMIC YEAR 2007/2008. The arms of the research were (1) to know whether the students mathematic achievement who took part in the mathematic learning process using NHT method is better than the students mathematic achievement who took part in the mathematic learning process using conventional method, in the sub material of Pythagoras on the solid. (2) to find out whether there was an effect between students mathematic achievement in the sub material Pythagoras on the solid. (3) to know whether there was an interaction between the use of NHT method and the students learning motivation in mathematic to the students mathematic achievement in sub material Pythagoras on the solid. This research used an apparent experiment method. The population of the research was all the 8 th grade students of SMPN I Gemolong in the semester 1 academic year 2007/2008, that had number 237 students. The sample used in the research was 2 classes, they were VIII C for the experiment class which was about 39 students and VIIID for the control class which was about 42 students. The collecting of the data was conducted using cluster random sampling. Instrument had been tested in SMP N II Gemolong. The collecting of the data used (1) Documentation method, that was in term of the data of students mathematic score in the book report of the seventh grade semester II academic year 2007/2008. Questionare method for the data of students motivation and test method for the data of students mathematic achievement in the sub material of Pythagoras on the solid. The analysis technique used was two ways variant analysis with different cel. The requirements of the analysis included normal distributed population with Lilliefors test and homogenous varaiant populatin using Bartlett test with Chi Kuadrat test statistic on the standard 0.05 From the result of the research. Can be concluded that : (1) The students mathematic achievement who took part in the mathematic learning process using NHT method was better than the students mathematic achievement who joined in the mathematic learning process using conventional method in the sub material Pythagoras on the solid. (Fa = 4.0040 > 3.984 = Ftabel on the significant standard = 0.05) (2) Students learning motivation gave effects to the mathematic achievement in the sub material of Pythagoras on the solid. (Fb = 22.4893 > 3.134 = Ftabel on the significant standard = 0.05). The student who has high motivation on learning mathematic had better learning achievement than the students who has low or average motivation. The students with average motivation had better learning achievement than the low motivated students. (3) There wasn’t interaction between teaching method and students motivation to the mathematic achievement in the sub material of Pythagoras the solid.
