    Abstract

    The objective of research is to find out whether or not the integrated learning model can improve the students’ activeness in the citizenship education subject matter in the VIII graders of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta in the school year of 2009/2010. The study employed a classroom action research (CAR) method. The data sources employed were informant, document, as well as place and event. Techniques of collecting data used were document, document analysis and recording.. The research procedure was done in the following step: (1) pl anning, (2) acting, (3) observing, and (4) reflecting. Techniques of collecting data employed were test, observation, questionaire, interview and documentation. Technique of analyzing data employed was interactive model with four components: data collection, reduction, display and conclusion drawing or verification Based on the discussion above, the result of research shows that there is a significant achievment improvement from the prior condition. The prior condition producing the high activeness is slightly improved with the presence of action done in the cycle I and accomplished in the cycle II. From the prior condition result, achievment the students’ by pa number of finished is 8 student, is same 33,33% in cycle 1 a number of finished is 13 student it is same a 54,17 %, in cycle 2 a number of finished is 19 student is same 79,19 %. It indicates that there is a very significant improvement of students’ achievement Based on the result above, it can be concluded that the intergrated learning method application can improve the PKn learning achievement in the grade VIII students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Surakarta in the school year of 2009/2010
