    Abstract

    The purposes of this research is to know the increasing of active character and result of geography learning on students of class X in SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo with applying Teams Games Tournament learning method with printing picture media on basic competent of atmosphere . This research is a class action research which performed in SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo , with object of the research is students in class X 7 whose students are 42 students, consists of 18 males and 24 females. Data collecting which is used, is observation. This observation is addressed to the teachers and students, test is performed in every cycles and analysis document. The Process research in two cycle that is covering four step that is planning phase, execution phase, observation phase and also phase analysis and refleksi. The result show that the value: (1) Student active character experiencing of improvement from cycle 1 st to cycle 2 st . This result is knowable from result of sheet of student observation conducted by researcher and assisted by a subject teacher. Active character is in cycle 1 st is amount 84,13 %, then in 2 nd cycle increased to 86,51 %. From the result we knowable that students active character experiencing of improvement. equal to 2,38%. (2) The result of student learning experiencing of improvement from cycle 1 st to cycle 2 st . This result is knowable from result test given by student in each final of cycle. The cycle 1 st from 42 totalizeing student in class X7, amount 40 student (100%) include minimum valvue category while student wich is not include minimum valvue category amount 2 student (4,76) with the average 69,9. The cycle 2 st result learn the student experience of the improvement that to show all student of class X7 amounting to 42 student ( 100%) included minimum valvue category with the average value 75. From the result we known that result of student learning experience of the improvement of equal to 7,03%. Appreciable Teacher performance from result of observation sheet learn. Result of performance learn in Cycle 1 st still unfavourable while in Cycle 2 st performance learn progressively mount the. Conclusion in this research is happened by experience to improvement active character and result of learning student through The using of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) method with printing picture media as an effort in increasing active character and learning result of geographic on atmosphere basic competent for students of class X SMA Negeri 2 sukoharjo education period 2008/2009.
