Abstract
The objective of this research are to find out (1) whether there is a correlation between the effectiveness of school principals’ leadership and teachers’ professionalism at State Elementary Schools in Ngadirojo Subdistrict, Wonogiri, (2) whether there is a correlation between school atmosphere and teachers’ professionalism at State Elementary Schools in Ngadirojo Subdistrict, Wonogiri, and (3) whether there is a correlation between the effectiveness of school principals’ leadership, school atmosphere and teachers’ professionalism at State Elementary Schools in Ngadirojo Subdistrict, Wonogiri. This study is a descriptive research with a correlational approach. The population of the study are all state elementary school teachers in Ngadirojo Subdistrict, Wonogiri. The population of the study were 270 teachers. Of this figure, 60 teachers were chosen as research sample selected with cluster random sampling technique. The study used a questionnaire to gather data about the effectiveness of school principals’ leadership, school atmosphere, and teachers performance. The data of this research were analyzed using a simple correlation analysis and multiple regression teachnique with prerequisite test covering normality test and linearity test with significant level 5%. Based on the results of data analysis, it can concluded that (1) there is a significant and positive correlation between the effectiveness of school principals’ leadership and teachers’ professionalism (r count > r table or 0.629 > 0.254), 2) there is a significant and positive correlation between school atmosphere and teachers’ professionalism (r count > r table or 0.467 > 0.254), and 3) there is a significant correlation between both the effectiveness of school principals’ leadership, school atmosphere and teachers’ professionalism (R y123 – 0.788 and F count > F table or 46.584 > 3.16). The effective contribution given by the variable of the effectiveness of school principals’ leadership towards teachers’ professionalism was 39.89% while the effective contribution given by the variable of school atmosphere towards teachers’ professionalism was 22.15%. The correlation model between X1 and X2 with Y is Y = 21.050 + 0.393 X1 + 0.478 X2. This model is statistically significant
