    Abstract

    This research was the field one, carried out on June to December 2009 at Pereng, Mojogedang Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency. Laboratory analysis at Laboratory of Chemistry and Soil Fertility, Faculty of Agriculture Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. The purpose of the research is to know the the effect of paitan litter (Tithonia diversivolia) treatment to K available and its uptake by rice plant with two cultivation system System of rice Intensification (SRI) and conventional. The research was a Randomize Completely Block Design (RCBD) factorial nested with 2 factors, they were farmers fertilizer practice 400 kg/ha urea, 100/ha SP36, 100 kg/ha of KCl (D1), the recommendation dose 250 kg/ha of urea fertilizer, 75 kg/ha SP36, 100 kg/ha of KCl (D2), Fertilizer 100% cow manure (10 tonnes / ha) (D3), 50% organic fertilizer (45% cow manure + 5% paitan litter) + 100% recommended dose (D4), 50% organic fertilizer (45% organic fertilizer cow + 5% paitan litter) + 50% recommended dose (D5), 50% organic fertilizer (cow manure 42.5% + 7.5% paitan litter) + 100% recommended dose (D6), 50% organic fertilizer ( 42.5% cow manure + 7.5 % paitan litter) + 50% recommended dose (D7), 50% organic fertilizer (40% cow manure + 10% paitan litter) + 100% recommended dose (D8), 50% organic fertilizer (40% cow manure + 10% paitan litter) + 50% recommended dose (D9). The second factor was cultivation systems, they were SRI (System of Rice Intensification) (B1) and conventional cultivation system (B2). Data analysis used the F test level 1% and 5% (for normal data) and Kruskal-Wallis (for abnormal data) to know the effect of treatment on the observed variables, whereas to compare the mean between the combined treatment used DMRT on 5 % (for normal data) and Mood Median (for abnormal data). Then to find out the correlation between variables used correlation test. The result showed that organic fertilizer enriched by paitan litter was nonsignificant influence to K available and its uptake on rice plant. The K available and its uptake on SRI as 0,69 g/clump, where as conventional system gave as 0,55 g/clump. The treatment combination of organic fertilizer enriched by paitan litter and the cultivation system was highly significantinfluence to soil K available and nonsignificant influence to riceplant K uptake. The highest K available was reached on treatment combination D1B1, D2B1, D3B1, D4B1, D7B1, D8B1 and D9B1 with 0,07 me%.
