    Abstract

    The research was conducted to : 1) know whether there is an influence of 4mat system learning model and Students Team Achievement Devision (STAD) learning model toward students achievement on the subject of chemistry, 2) to investigate whether there is a relation/influence of students curiosity to student achievement; 3) to investigate whether there is an interaction between 4mat learning system and Students Team Achievement Devision (STAD) learning model and students curiosity to students achievement. The research was conducted on April to May 2007, with the population consisting the 11th Grade of SMA Negeri Tawangsari Sukoharjo, uses experiment and anava factorial design 2 x 3 taken in simple random sampling. The technique of collecting data uses closed questionnaire which the study prestige of chemistry data are checked by multiple-choice test and the curiosity ot students data are checked by questionnaire. Instrument validity is tested to study prestige by using biserial point correlation coefficient, curiosity instrument uses product moment technique, and while questionnaire reability uses alpha formula, acquired r11 = 0,850 and study prestige reability acquired r11 = 0,982. The technique of analysis data is variance analysis. The result of the data analysis based on 5 % level signification and Ftable= 3,97 and found that: 1) students achievement on the subject of chemistry data Fcount = 7,258 and while curiosity aspect Fcount = 4,0693 means that STAD cooperative learning model with guided inquiry method give more influence than experiment method, the everage 4mat system group is 73,14 and the average STAD group is 68,73; 2) curiosity of students data Fcount = 18,886 means give more influence curiosity to study prestige, it means that highes students’ curiosity means highes students’ achievement 3) interaction impact test showing Fcount = 0,203941 for cognitive aspects and psychomotor aspects test Fcount = 13,328 means an interaction of influences of learning model and curiosity of students to study prestige of chemistry. In this research in 4mat, the highes average student’ score is found on the students’ with medium curiosity. On the STAD group, the highes score found on the high curiosity students’. 4mat system is appropviate for students’ with medium curiosity and STAD appropviate for students’ with high curiosity.
