    Abstract

    Suharsiwi, D0206022, Audience Research UNS Menyapa Talk Show On TA TV Among New Students In UNS Solo, 127 pages. Competition between State University (PTN) and Private University (PTS) is increasing. Facing this competition, university requires a strategy that focuses on image and reputation. UNS Menyapa is a talk show programs made by the Public Relations of UNS Solo. Not only to provide information about UNS Solo, the talk show also aims to build the image of UNS Solo which is currently included in the 1500 list of world-class university based Webometric. Students are one of the audiences of this talk show. Students are intellectual audiences who are active and selective in selecting media to find information about UNS. Generally, this research aims to find out how much percentage of the audience, audience activities and perceptions of new students UNS as one of the target audience. However this talk show needs to be evaluated by new students because this show has been running two year. The methodology employed was descriptive quantitative techniques using data collection techniques of quesionare. Meanwhile, the sampling technique used was multistage sampling. The population in this study were students from 2009 to 2010 who come from TA TV coverage areas. Samples were 200 students from the Department of Mathematics, Economics of Education, Public Administration and Civil Engineering. Generally, the writer concludes that 52,5 % of respondents had seen UNS Menyapa. Respondents also stated that the theme of each episode in UNS Menyapa are best. But imaging UNS as a world-class universities, yet can be seen in UNS Menyapa talk show. In this study also described the media are often used for new students to access information about UNS Solo. The conclusions of the author is 88 % respondents said that website is media that most they use to find information about the UNS.
