Sheep was a livestock as an animal protein source. One of the factors influencing the success of its care is feed stuff. Feed of animal consists of forage and concentrate. However the forage from tropical country has a low quality and its availability is very limited in the dry season. In order to increase the productivity, sheep needs energizing feed which in from of concentrate. However, since the concentrate has an expensive price, there must be an alternative feed which is cheaper than the concentrate. The alternative feed can be in form if waste contains nutrient needed by livestock. The Beer Waste And Stacks can be used as an alternative by mixing it with the 50:50 ratio so that the nutrient contents almost nearly with the concentrate can be derived. This research was purposed to know the influence from the mixing of beer waste and stacks within concentrate toward the organic and dry material digestion of male local sheep. The research was done in Tagunggede, Karanganyar Village, Musuk Sub district, Boyolali Regency. The period of research ran for about 12 weeks, started at May 14 to August 2007. The research used 15 local male sheep with average weight of 15,3 ± 0,08. Ration given is 60 percent forage that is form of King Grass and 40 percent BC 132 concentrate. The treatment tested is the main ration without the distribution of beer waste and stacks, as the control (p0), main ratio with the mixing level of beer waste and stacks for about 10% (p1), the main ratio with the mixing level of beer waste and stacks for about 20% (p2), the main ratio with the mixing level of beer waste and stacks for about 30% (p3). The experiment planning used is Complete Randomize Design (CRD) one direction with 4 treatments (P0, P1, P2, and P3). Each treatment is repeated four times, and every repeating consists of one local male sheep. From the research result, the data P0, P1, P2, and P3, respectively, for the dry material consumption are 866,60; 1009,56; 834,41; and 782,40 g/head/day, for the organic material consumption are 748,67; 815,88; 642,91; and 590,02 g/head/day, for dry material digestion are 68,12; 71,94; 71,47; 70,52 percent, and for organic material digestion are 76,24; 76,88; 75,91; and 75,98 percent. The result of variance analysis shows that dry material digestion and organic material digestion are non significant different (P> 0,05), it means that the use of waste beer and stacks mixing in 30% level have no influence in decreasing the sheep’s feed consumption, organic material consumption, dry material digestion, and organic material digestion. The conclusion of the research is that the mixing of beer waste and stacks in the concentrate have no influence in decreasing the dry material and organic material digestion of local male sheep.
