    Abstract

    Effort breeding was confronted with expensively expense of stock concentrate. Alternative feed of exploiting industrial waste obtained by mixing of tofu waste and arenga waste, needed to overcome the problem. Using of the mixture tofu waste and arenga waste (73% tofu waste : 25% arenga waste : 2% urea) in ration expected to complete the nutrient and can use as feed stuff of energy source. Using of the mixture tofu and arenga waste expected advantage in livestock maintenance, because can depress expense of using concentrate. The aim of this research is to know the effect of using the mixture tofu waste and arenga waste in the ration on performance of male local sheep. This research was carried out in kennel of sheep PT. Putri Salju, Dagen, Karanganyar take place on May 3rd until July 12th 2007. It used 16 male local sheep with average body weight of 12,94 ± 1,09 kg, that is placed at individual pen. Experimental design which applied is Completely Randomized Design (CRD) what consisting of four treatment and four replication. Treatment which given is P0 (30% concentrate BC 132+ 0% mixture tofu waste and arenga waste), Pl (20% concentrate BC 132+ 10% mixture tofu waste and arenga waste), P2 (10% concentrate BC 132 + 20% mixture tofu waste and arenga waste), and P3 (0% concentrate BC 132 + 30% mixture tofu waste and arenga waste). Based on feed giving is forage (field grass) and concentrate equal to 70:30 based on dry matter (DM). Parameter which measured is production appearance of male local sheep include dry matter consumption, daily weight gain, feed conversion and feed cost per gain. Research result indicate that using of the mixture tofu waste and arenga waste until level of 30% in ration have an effect on non significant (P≥0.05) to dry matter matter consumption, average daily gain, feed conversion and reduce feed cost per gain at male local sheep. Average dry matter consumption of ranged from 512,53 g/tail/day - 543,85 g/tail/day, average of daily gain ranged from 22,77 g/tail/day - 39,28 g/tail/day. Average of feed conversion ranged from 15,59 - 24,55 and average of feed cost per gain ranged from Rp. 13.099,49 - Rp. 22.565,01. Conclusion from this research of using of the mixture tofu waste and arenga waste until level of 30% in ration can used as feed energy source at ration male local sheep.
