    Abstract

    Methods: This was laboratory experimental research with pre test and post test with control design. Subjects in this research were 25 Wistar strains white male rats (Rattus norvegicus) 2-3 months old age and 150-200 g weight. Samples divided into 5 groups of 5 rats each. Sampling technique used in this research was purposive random sampling. Group I (negative control) was given aquadest 2 ml, group II (positive control) was given paracetamol 12,6 mg in 2 ml liquid /200 g rat weight, group III was given leaf flower herbs extract at dosages I (37,8 mg in 2 ml liquid /200 g rat weight), group IV was given leaf flower herbs extract at dosages II (75,6 mg in 2 ml liquid /200 g rat weight) and group V was given leaf flower herbs extract at dosages III (151,2 mg in 2 ml liquid /200 g rat weight). Each rat was measured by rectal temperature before the treatment, then each rat was fevered by injecting the 0,2 ml DPT vaccine i.m. Three hours after vaccine given, the rectal temperature was measured again to know about the temperature increased. Next each group was given treatment. 15 minutes later, rectal temperature was measured again until the minute-120 by 15 minutes interval. After the data obtained, then analized by anova repeated measures test and continued by post hoc test. Results: Result of anova repeated measures test showed that there was a significant difference of temperature measurements over time and among the five groups (p<0.05). The result of post hoc test analysis showed that the significant difference (p<0.05) was between paracetamol group and both aquadest group and dose 1 group. No significant differences (p>0.05) were found between paracetamol group and both dose 2 and dose 3 group. Conclusion: The feeding of leaf flower herbs extract (Phyllanthus niruri L.) has an antipyretic effect on on The DPT Vaccine-Induced Fevered White Rats (Rattus norvegicus) Key words: leaf flower herbs extract, anti-pyretic, white rat.
