    Abstract

    Watik Sri Susilowati. UPGRADING ACCOUNTING LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH LEARNING STARTS WITH A QUESTION STRATEGY ON THE STUDENTS OF XI ACCOUNTING 1 SMK NEGERI 1 SURAKARTA ACADEMIC YEAR 2010/2011. Thesis, Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education. Sebelas Maret University Surakarta, June 2011. The aim of this research is to determimine whether the application of learning with learning start with a question strategy can upgrades accounting learning achievement on XI accounting 1 SMK Negeri 1 Surakarta Academic Year 2010/2011. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which held two cycles in which each passed through four stages, that is: (1) action planning; (2) action implementation; (3) action observation; and (4) action reflection. The research subject is all of the XI Accounting 1 student on SMK Negeri 1 Surakarta Academic Year 2010/2011 at rate of 38 students. This research was held with the colaboration among researcher, the class teacher and involves students‟s participation. Data collection technique using observation sheet, test instrument, and documentation. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that the application of learning start with a question can upgrading accounting learning achievement on XI Accounting 1 SMK Negeri 1 Surakarta Academic Year 2010/2011. This can be proven by these following fact: (1) student‟s motivation from 78,9% on cycle I become 78,7% on cycle II.(2) student‟s participation increased from 52,6% on cycle I become 80,9% on cycle II. (3) learning achievement on accounting subject that measured by evaluation test, showed by the completeness of student‟s learning result indicates escalation that cycle I 78,9% become 100% on cycle II. Key words: Learning start with a question strategy, motivation, students participation and learning achievement.
