    Abstract

    Dengue hemorrhagic fever is an acute and contagious disease that will be a fatal .The purpose of this study was analyzing the effectiveness of family promosien to eradicate dengue hemorrhagic fever in Bondowoso, including the effectiveness of counseling on knowledge, attitudes, and community practice as an effort to dengue hemorrhagic fever eradication, also the effectiveness of counseling in decreasing the existence of larva It was an experiment research with a randomized controlled trial study. This sample unit was the family who live in working area of Public Health Center of Pujer and Tenggarang, Disctrict of Bondowoso. The sample were 100 family who were allocated into two groups. This research used primary data which was collected by interviews using the questionnaire and statistically analized by the t- test and chi-square test. Results of research showed that promosien was effective on knowledge (p=0.000), attitude (p=0.005), and practice (p=0.000) as an effort to eradicate dengue hemorrhagic fever, but was ineffective against the existence of larva (p = 0.461) Compared with the group without promosein, the group of community promosien tend to be more understand about dengue hemorrhagic fever, and also have more positive attitude and practice against dengue hemorrhagic fever. However, family promosien was ineffective to eradicate mosquito larva in both groups.
