    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Hadi Prayitno. 2006. THE EFFECT OF LIQUID TEXTILE WASTE SUPPLY OF PT. BATIK KERIS SUKOHARJO ON THE CHANGE OF TEMPERATURE, pH, DO, BOD, NO3, Ca, Mg, AND PLANKTON IN THE PREMULUNG RIVER SURAKARTA. Biology Departement. FMIPA. UNS. Surakarta. PT. Batik Keris Sukoharjo is a textile manufacture with batik as a motif, it is located in Cemani villages, Grogol, Sukoharjo, Central of Java. This manufacture disposed continuously the liquid industrial waste into the canal, which is supplies water to the Premulung river in Surakarta. The aims of this research were to know the quality of the liquid textile waste canal of PT. Batik Keris Sukoharjo, and how the effect to the conditions of Premulung river, based on temperature, pH, DO, BOD, NO3, Ca, Mg and diversity index of plankton. The water samples are taken from the rivers by using a range methods (plotless sampling methods), by dividing the river into 5 (five) monitoring stations with the distance of its station is ± 50 metre and done by 3 (three) repetitions, that is on the left of the river-bank, middle, and on the right of the river-bank. Data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The result of the research indicate: (1) Quality of the liquid waste textile in the waste canal of the PT Batik Keris Sukoharjo based on parameters for temperature, BOD, NO3 is exceeding maximum boundary and DO that is below from minimum boundary, and based on the diversity index of plankton is classify to the moderate pollution, (2) Liquid waste textile supplies of PT. Batik Keris Sukoharjo do not show the signifikan influence to the change of temperature, pH, DO, BOD, NO3, Ca, Mg and diversity index of plankton of Premulung river Surakarta.
