    Abstract

    Based on the data obtained in the field of Javanese script writing skills students of class X IPS 5 SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak is still low. Three things are the causes of the low skills of students, namely students lack confidence in writing Javanese scripts, lack of student knowledge, and learning delivered by the teacher is not maximal. This research aims to increase: (1) the activity of students in learning to write two paragraphs in Javanese script using aksara numbers, and (2) the paragraphs writing skill in Javanese script using aksara numbers through Team Games Tournament method and comic media in class IPS 5 students of SMA Negeri 1 Ngemplak. This research uses Classroom Action Research approach (CAR) which consists of 2 cycles. The subjects of this study were class X IPS 5 students and teacher. The data sources in this study are events, information, and documents. Data collection techniques carried out were observation, document analysis, interviews, and tests. Test the validity of the data in this study using data method triangulation and source triangulation. Data analysis techniques carried out in this study are critical analysis and descriptive comparative. The result of the study show that the application of the Team Tournament Game method and comic media can improve the quality of the process and results of writing Javanese characters. It can be seen from (1) active students in pre-action with "very good and good" activeness categories only by 25%. In cycle I it increased to 58.33%, and increased again to 83.33% in cycle II. (2) the writing skills of Javanese characters in the procedure of addressing the percentage of completeness were only 66.53%, then increased in the first cycle by 22.22%, and increased to 86.11% in the second cycle.
