    Abstract

    This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of simulation based learning on the tunagrahita students’ ability to treat oneself during menstruation in early adolescents. The study was conducted in SLB PANCA BAKTI MULIA Surakarta In the academic year of 2018/2019. This research is a single subject Research / SSR experimental research using the A-B-A design. The subjects of the study are students with mental retardation in the SLB Panca Bakti Mulia Surakarta who were not able to take care of themselves independently during menstruation. Data collection technique of this study are in the form of performance test and interviews (as supporting data). Content validity is used in this study to check the validity of the research instrumens. Interrater reliability is used to check the instrumen reliability which is supported by the interclass correlation using SPSS 22. The results of this study were descriptive statistical analyzed. The data from the research are presented in graphical form. Based on the data analysis, it was observed that the baseline-1 (A1) phase had an average of 50.33 which belonged to less independent category. in the intervention phase (B) had an average of 79.12 which belonged to independent category. The results of data analysis obtained in the baseline-2 phase (A2), had on average of 90 which belonged to very independent category. These results indicate that simulation based learning has an effect on the ability to treat oneself during menstruation, mentally retarded students in early adolescence in SLB PANCA BAKTI MULIA Academic Year 2018/2019.
