    Abstract

    This study aimed: 1) to describe the application of the Guided Note Taking method with graphic media, 2) to improve social sciences learning outcomes in fifth grade students of SDN 1 Mangunweni , 3) to describe constraints and solutions in applying the Guided Note Taking method with graphic media to improve social sciences learning outcomes about the historical heritage that is characterized by Hinduism -Budha in Indonesia for Grade V students of SDN 1 Mangunweni . This research is collaborative classroom action research. The study was conducted in three cycles with five meetings. Each meeting consists of stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were fifth grade students of SDN 1 Mangunweni in Academic Year 2018/2019, totalling 21 students. Data sources were obtained from students and teachers. Data collection techniques were tests, observations, and interviews. Data validity used source triangulation and technical triangulation. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of this study indicated: 1) the steps of the application of Guided Note Taking method with graphic media included: a) dividing the record sheet, b) delivering content and coaching charging record sheet with graphic media, c) reading the results of the record, d ) clarifiying the record yields, and e) evaluating; 2) the Application of Guided note Taking method with graphic media to improve learning outcomes of social sciences was evidenced by the completeness of pre-action social science learning outcomes was 52.38 % , increasing after the action was 91.7 %; 3) The obstacles in this study were: a) there were some students who made noise when the teacher delivered the learning, b) students had difficulty filling out the note sheet, and c) students lacked of confidence to come forward to read the results of their notes. The solutions to these constraints are: a) the teacher reminds students who make noise, b) he teacher guides students who have difficulty filling out the note sheet, and c) the teacher rewards students who are willing to come to the front of the class. The conclusion of this research is the application of Guided Note Taking method with graphic media could improve learning outcomes of social sciences about Hindu-Buddhist heritage in Indonesia.
