    Abstract

    The research aimed to examine whether or not there was (1) a difference influence of TGT model and conventional model towards history learning outcomes; (2) a difference influence of TGT model and conventional model towards history learning outcomes in groups of students with high learning interest; (3) a difference influence of TGT model and conventional model towards history learning outcomes in groups of students with low learning interest; (4) the interaction between learning model and student’s learning interest towards history learning outcomes in the 11th grade students of IPS MAN 1 Surakarta. The population of this research was 11th grade students of IPS MAN 1 Surakarta. XI IPS 1 and XI IPS 5 class were selected as the sample through simple random sampling. The research used experimental method with 2x2 factorial design. Data were collected by means of test for the data of history learning outcomes and questionnaire for student’s learning interest data. Those data were analyzed with two-way anava test with different content of cell, followed with double comparison of Scheffe method level of significance 0,05. The result showed that (1) there were significance differences between TGT and conventional model towards history learning outcomes (Fhitung=38,24 > F0,05;2;64=4,00). The students taught with TGT had better history learning outcomes than who were taught with conventional model; (2) there were significance differences between TGT and conventional model towards history learning outcomes in groups of students with high learning interest (Fhitung=69,37 > F0,05;2;64=4,00). TGT gave a better influence than conventional model towards history learning outcomes in groups of students with high learning interest. (3) there were significance differences between TGT and conventional model towards history learning outcomes in groups of students with low learning interest (Fhitung=15,95 > F0,05;2;64=4,00). TGT gave a better influence than conventional model towards history learning outcomes in groups of students with low learning interest. (4) there was interaction between learning model and student’s learning interest towards history learning outcomes (Fhitung=4,735> F0,05;2;64 = 3,14).
