    Abstract

    Septy Dewi Purwanti. The Application of Course Review Horay Model with Graphic Media in Improving Social Science Learning about Types of Jobs in Year Three Students of SD Negeri 1 Wirun in Academic Year 2018/2019. Thesis, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta, February 2019. This study aimed: (1) to describe the application of the Course Review Horay model with graphic media, (2) to improve social science learning about the types of jobs through the application of the Course Review Horay model with graphic media, and (3) to describe the constraints and solutions in applying the Course Review model Horay with graphic media in improving social science learning about the types of jobs for third grade students at SD Negeri 1 Wirun in Academic Year 2018/2019. This collaborative classroom action (CAR) was carried out in three cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were teachers and third grade students of SD Negeri 1 Wirun in Academic Year 2018/2019. Data were in the form of qualitative and quantitative data. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and tests. Data validity used technique triangulation and sources. Data analysis was done through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the study showed that (1) the application of the Course Review Horay model with graphic media was carried out with the steps of delivering competence, presentation of material with graphic media, question and answer, group division, making boxes on discussion sheets, reading questions, group discussions, giving check lists, calculating scores, and giving rewards; (2) the application of the Course Review Horay model with graphic media could improve social science learning about the type of jobs evidenced by the percentage of teacher observation results in the first cycle = 70.48%, cycle II = 85.21%, and cycle III = 91.94%. The percentage of student observation in cycle I was 68.40%, in cycle II was 81.52%, and in cycle III was= 89.44%. The percentage of completeness of students’ learning outcomes in the first cycle was 64.71%, in cycle II was 79.41%, and in cycle III was 89.71%; (3) the obstacles that occurred were students paid less attention to the teacher when explaining the material and some of the less active students asked and argued. The solutions are: the teacher admonishes and asks students to pay attention to the teacher, and the teacher stimulates and motivates students to be confident and actively ask questions and opinions. The conclusion of this study is the application of the Course Review Horay model with graphic media could improve social science learning about the types of jobs in class III SD Negeri 1 Wirun in Academic Year 2018/2019.
