    Abstract

    Crediting has the greatest asset compared with other bank operating activities. Nevertheless, the risk of loss is mainly due to that attempt. Therefore, in order to reduce the risk of credit issuance, a procedure of implementation is required. Considering those problem, the writer conducted an observation to PD BPR Bank Pasar Klaten about the procedure of general credit issuance. The objectives of observation are (1) To find out the procedure of general credit issuance in PD BPR Bank Pasar Klaten, and (2) To describe the procedure of general credit issuance in PD BPR Bank Pasar Klaten. In line with those objectives, the observation method employed in this study was the descriptive observation that can give a description about the situations or events without explaining interrelated or making prediction. The data source employed included the data obtained directly from the first source and indirectly (in the form of processed data) that can be used by the writer in this observation. Techniques of collecting data employed were interview, observation and studying the document and archive. Based on the result of observation, it can be concluded that (1) Procedure of general credit issuance encompasses the stages of credit application, credit analysis, credit decision, credit clearing, credit supervision, and credit payment. (2) The implementation of general credit issuance procedure has some weaknesses such as the personnel of Bank Pasar Klaten are less serious in following up the customers who do not meet the requirement of saving account ownership in Bank Pasar Klaten, SID (Debtor Information System) examination is only done to the credit of 10,000,000.00, and the guarantee assessment is only done by the Appraisal to the credit of at least 15,000,000.00, and many personnel still less competent in operating computer. With such weaknesses, the writer recommends the bank to be more serious in following up the customers who do not have the saving account in Bank Pasar Klaten, SID examination and guarantee assessment by Appraisal to be done in all of credit, and improve the skill of Bank Pasar Klaten personnel in operating computer.
