    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Agus Mulyono, K4614009. IMPROVEMENT EFFORT ON STUDENTS’ABILITYTO LEARN MANIPULATIVE BASIC MOVEMENTS USING LEARNING AIDS AS STUDIED ON THIRD GRADE STUDENTS OF TEGALREJO STATE PRIMARY SCHOOL YEAR 2018/2019 SURAKARTA. Undergraduate Thesis. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta, December 2018. The purpose of this research is to improve students’ ability to learn basic manipulative movements using the help of learning aids, as studied on third grade students ofTegalrejoState Primary School year 2018/2019. Classified as an action research, the research is divided into two cycles in implementation with each cycle consist of planning, execution, and observation. Observation method was used in this research for data collection by grading, noting, and documenting eachstudent’s progress in bothcycles. Researcher used the triangulation method for data validity test and in analyzing the data, researcher used the descriptive method that were based on the quantitative analysis by percentage on each cycle. The result of observation and analyzing done by researcher shows that in the beginning, before the first cycle only 13 students (41.93%) passed the passing grade bar and 18 students (58.06%) did not pass the passing grade bar. The improvement kept going strong over the course to the second cycle, where 27 students (87.10%) passed and only 4 students (12.90%) didn’t pass the passing grade yet. The target bar for this research is 80% and as seen in the second cycle, 87.10% students were able to pass the passing grade, based on that result there is no need for another cycle. In conclusion, the use of learning aids for students is proven to have positive effect for students and it helped them to improve their ability in learning basic manipulative movements as seen on their progress that peaked in the second cycle resulting in better grades and more students were able to pass the passing grade as seen on third grade students of Tegalrejo State Primary School year 2018/2019.
