    Abstract

    5 ABSTRACT Slamet Suwanto, 2006, STUDY OPTODE FILM FROM OCTYLTRIETHOXYSILANE AND AMINOPROPYLTRIMETHOXYSILANE WITH KROMOIONOFOR 4-(2-PYRIDYLAZO) RESORCINOL FOR OPTIC SENSOR OF METAL IONS Cu(II) AND Cd(II). Thesis. Department of Chemistry. Mathematics and Science Faculty. Sebelas Maret University Surakarta. The optic sensor material (optode) had been synthesized through the combination method of sol-gel and evaporation. The reactants were octyltriethoxysilane (OTES) and aminopropyltrimethxysilane (APTS) added with 4-(2-pyridylazo)resorcinol (PAR). The synthesized had been applied for optic sensor of copper(II) and cadmium(II) metal ions. Methods choosy for optic sensor, optode soak system was metal ions solutan with contact time variation from 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 30, and 60 seconds. AAS had been used to determined the adsorpbed metal ions onto optode. The analysis of function group by FTIR showed absorption changes of function group such as Si-O-C, Si-O-Si, -CH as the results of OTES, APTS and PAR reactions. Optic respon was showed by the change of lmaxs from 320 nm (OTES-APTS) to 405 nm added with PAR. The morphological analysis of OTES- APTS by SEM showed the porous optode structure which is crack resistance. The extraction constant (Kext) are 0,388 and 0,387.
