    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Rizqi Aditya Nugraha. K7114154.The Implementation Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Type of Cooperative Learning Model to Improve Ability to Solve Math Stories (Classroom Action Research of The Student in Grade V of State Primary School Totosari No. 102 Surakarta in the Academic Year of 2017/2018). Skripsi. Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Sebelas Maret University, November 2018. The purpose of this research is to improve ability to solve math stories by applying Numbered Heads Together learning model the five grade students of an State Elementary School in Surakarta city at the academic year 2017/2018. The research is an action classroom research which was run for two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four phases, there were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subjects of this research are the teacher and the 33 students in Grade V of State Primary School Totosari No.102 Surakarta in the Academic Year of 2017/2018. The data collection techniques were used observation, interview, test, and documentation. The data analysis technique was used interactive analysis. The data validation techniques were used content validity, source triangulation, and techique triangulation. The results showed the classical completeness has increased, from 27% in pretest, 57,58% on cycle I, 87,88% on cycle II. However, 9,68% (4 students) still earned the score <75 due to their constraint in Mathematic especially in numeracy skill. As a follow up, they were given a more guidance by the teacher. The result of the assessment of study activity and teacher performance appraisal also increase. The conclusion about the discusion is Numbered Heads Together learning model were able to improve ability to solve math stories for students in Grade V of State Primary School Totsari No.102 Surakarta in the Academic Year of 2017/2018.
