    Abstract

    This current research is intended to figure out whether: (1) Edublogs is more effective than Penzu to teach writing for the tenth-grade students of SMA ABBS Surakarta; (2) students having high creativity have better writing skill than those having low creativity for tenth-grade students of SMA ABBS Surakarta; and (3) there is an interaction between teaching media and students’ creativity in teaching writing. This research used an experimental research. The teaching media are Edublogs and Penzu. Creativity as the attributive variable was divided into high creativity and low creativity. The population of this research was the tenth-grade students of SMA ABBS Surakarta in the academic year of 2017/2018 consisting of 195 students. The samples of this research were the class XG consisting of 26 students as control class and class XD consisting of 26 students as experimental class. The samples were taken by using cluster random sampling. The data were collected using creativity and writing test. The data were analyzed using: (1) descriptive statistics, normality, and homogeneity of the data; and (2) Multifactor Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test of 2x2 and Tukey test were used to test the research hypothesis. The analysis result of the research reveals that: (1) Edublogs is more effective than Penzu to teach writing; (2) students having high creativity have better writing skill than those having low creativity; and (3) there is an interaction between teaching media and students’ creativity in teaching writing. Referring to the research findings, it can be drawn a conclusion that generally Edublogs is an effective media to teach writing for the tenth-grade students of SMA ABBS Surakarta in the academic year of 2017/2018. Thus, this media can be implemented to help teachers as well as students in teaching and learning writing skill.
