    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Yosan Setyo Utomo. S831702021. Constructivism-Based Science Learning uses Guided Inquiry and Modified Free Inquiry in terms of Teamwork and Arguing Skills (Experimentation of Science Learning on Force Concept for Class VIII SMP N 2 Surakarta Academic Year 2018/2019). Thesis: Natural Science Education Program, Postgraduate Program, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta, December 2018. Advisor I: Prof. Dr. Ashadi; Advisor II: Dr. Sarwanto, S.Pd, M.Si. Science learning requires the active role of students and constructive thinking. For this reason, science learning requires the application of inquiry learning by paying attention to the characteristics of students. This study aims to determine the effect of using a guided inquiry model and modified free inquiry, student argumentation skills, collaboration, and their interaction with science learning achievement. This research includes the type of experimental research. The population is eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Surakarta in the 2018/2019 academic year consisting of 9 classes. The research sample was conducted by simple random sampling technique consisting of two classes. The experimental class 1 uses a guided inquiry model and the experimental class 2 uses a modified free inquiry model. Each class consists of 27 and 30 students. Data collection techniques for learning achievement and argumentation skills using tests, while for teamwork students use observation sheets. Test the research hypothesis using factorial 2x2x2 cell design anova which is not the same calculated using SPSS 23 software. Based on the results of data processing with a significance level of 0.05, it was concluded: (1) There is an influence of learning by using guided inquiry and modified free inquiry on learning achievement in science. (2) There are differences in learning achievement between students who have high and low teamwork skills. (3) There are differences in learning achievement between students who have high and low argumentation skills. (4) There is no interaction between guided inquiry learning models and modified free inquiry with cooperative skills on student learning achievement. (5) There is no interaction using modified inquiry and free inquiry models with argumentation skills towards learning achievement. (6) There is no interaction between cooperative skills and argumentation on student achievement. (7) There is no interaction between guided inquiry learning and modified free inquiry, teamwork skills, and arguments for science learning achievement.
