    Abstract

    This study aimed to (1) describe the application of guided inquiry-based learning model to improve science learning outcomes of objects and their nature and (2) improve science learning outcomes of objects and their nature by applying guided inquiry-based learning model. This research is a collaborative classroom action research (CAR) carried out in three cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were third grade students of SD Negeri 1 Bumirejo Academic Year 2018/2019, totalling 23 students. Data used were in the form of qualitative data, namely the application of guided inquiry-based learning model and quantitative data, namely the test of learning outcomes in science subjects. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and tests. Data validity used technique triangulation and sources. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that: (1) guided inquiry-based learning model to improve science learning outcomes of objects and their nature in grade 3 students at SD Negeri 1 Bumirejo Academic Year 2018/2019 was carried out by the following steps: (a) conducting orientation, (b) formulating problem, (c) submitting hypotheses, (d) collecting data, (e) testing hypotheses, and (f) forming conclusions; (2) guided inquiry-based learning model could improve science learning outcomes of objects and their nature in grade 3 students at SD Negeri 1 Bumirejo Academic Year 2018/2019 as evidenced by an increase in the percentage of students’ completeness from 73.91% in the first cycle of meeting 1 to 78. 26% in meeting 2; the second cycle of meeting 1; the percentage of students’ completeness reached 81.82% and increased to 85.71% in meeting 2; the third cycle of meeting 1; percentage completeness reached 100%. The conclusion of this study indicated that the application of a guided inquiry-based model could improve science learning outcomes of objects and their nature in grade III students, SD Negeri 1 Bumirejo Academic Year 2018/2019.
