    Abstract

The Effectivity of Guided Inquiry Model and Problem Based Learning Model with the Aid of Audiovisual Media Toward the Critical Thinking Ability of XI Social Students in Sma Negeri 1 Teras in the Academic Year of 2018/2019 (Basic Competence Of Indonesia’s Strategic Positions As The Global Maritime Fulcrume). Thesis, Supervisor 1 Drs. Djoko Subandriyo, Supervisor 2 M.Pd, 2 Singgih Prihadi, S.Pd, M.Pd. Geography Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta 2018. The aim of this research is to determine: (1) the difference of effectivity among the application of Guided inquiry model with the aid of audiovisual model, Problem Based Learning with the aid of audiovisual media, and expository model toward the students’ critical thinking ability, (2) the effectivity of the usage of Guided inquiry model with the aid of audiovisual media compared to the expository model toward the students’ critical thinking skill, (3) the effectivity of Problem Based Learning compared to the expository model toward the students’ critical thinking skill, and (4) the effectivity of Problem Based Learning model with the aid of audiovisual media toward the critical thinking of XI Social students in SMA N 1 Teras in the academic year of 2018/2019. This research is a quasi-experimental research. The population is the students of class XI Social in SMA N 1 Teras in the academic year of 2018/2019. The sampling method used is simple random sampling, the samples chosen are the class of XI Social 1, XI Social 3, and XI Social 6. The data collection technique used to collect the students’ critical thinking ability is test (multiple choices and essay). The data analysis technique used is one-way anava test, which is then continued with the post anava test using scheffe method with 5% significance level. The results of this research are: (1) There is a difference in the effectivity between Guided inquiry model with the aid of audiovisual media, Problem Based Learning model with the aid of audiovisual media, and expository model toward the students’ critical thinking skill. (2) Guided inquiry model with the aid of audiovisual media is more effective than the expository model toward the students’ critical thinking ability. (3) Problem Based Learning with the aid of audiovisual media is more effective than the expository model toward the students’ critical thinking skill. (4) The Guided inquiry model has the same level of effectiveness as Problem Based Learning assisted by audiovisual media toward the critical thinking skill of the class XI Social students in SMA N 1 Teras in the academic year 2018/2019.
