    Abstract

    The research based on the importance of structural scientific argumentation skills and correctness of content in scientific learning especially biology. The purpose of this research is to know the implementation of Three Stage Fishbowl Decision Discusion Method with Mind Mapping on student’s scientific argumentation skills of class XI science. The research was considered as quasi experiment using Nonrandomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest design using purposive sampling with population is all students of XI MIA SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar 2018/2019 on the tissue plants as content materials. Sample of class consists three classes, first eksperiment class with Fishbowl Discusion Method and Mind Mapping, second eksperiment class with Fishbowl Discusion Method only and control without aplication. Scientific argumentation assessment refers to Toulmin Argument Pattern (TAP). The effect of the treatment of Fishbowl Decision Method was seen when the discussion still in progress, the result that experimental class had better oral argumentation skills than the control, while written scientific argumentation skills was achieved by first experimental class based on pre-test and post-test results. The conclusion of this research show that the application of Three Stage Fishbowl Decision Discusion Method with Mind Mapping has given better effect towards student’s scientific argumentation skills on biology learning
