Program Studi Doktor Ilmu Pendidikan, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada pendidikan keaksaraan fungsional yang selama ini dilakukan di kelompok belajar bagi masyarakat pedesaan, 2) menghasilkan model pembelajaran partisipatif motivasional pada pendidikan keaksaraan fungsional tingkat lanjutan, 3) memvalidasi model pembelajaran partisipatif motivasional pada pendidikan keaksaraan fungsional tingkat lanjutan bagi masyarakat pedesaan, dan 4) menguji keefektifan model pembelajaran partisipatif motivasional pada pendidikan keaksaraan fungsional tingkat lanjutan bagi masyarakat pedesaan. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian R & D. Prosedur penelitiannya mencakup tiga tahapan. Tahap pertama, studi pendahuluan dilakukan kajian literatur dan studi lapangan yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan bahan-bahan pendukung. Pengumpulan data pada studi pendahuluan dilakukan dengan menelaah data hasil wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi secara deskriptif kualitatif. Tahap kedua, mengembangkan prototipe model dengan desain model ADDIE. Prototipe model meliputi buku model, panduan tutor, panduan warga belajar, dan video pembelajaran. Tahap pengujian keefektifan model, dilakukan eksperimen pretest-posttest control group design, subjek penelitian ini 66 orang, dengan 32 warga belajar sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan 34 warga belajar sebagai kelompok kontrol. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan soal tes dan instrumen motivasi belajar. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan untuk mengukur keefektifan menggunakan t-Test. Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan ini yaitu: 1) Pelaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran sangat tergantung pada kemampuan dan keterampilan yang dimiliki oleh tutor. 2) Model pembelajaran partisipatif motivasional dengan langkah-langkah meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan belajar, perumusan tujuan pembelajaran, penyusunan program kegiatan belajar, pelaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran, penilaian proses dan hasil belajar. 3) Validitas ahli teknologi pembelajaran maupun materi pembelajaran pada prototipe model berada pada kategori sangat tinggi. 4) Model pembelajaran partisipatif motivasional efektif dalam meningkatkan proses penyadaran diri, partisipasi aktif, motivasi belajar, dan hasil belajar keaksaraan fungsional. Aspek motivasi belajar meliputi perhatian, relevansi, percaya diri, dan kepuasan. Hasil belajar skor rerata skor pretes=7,82 < postes=8,39 ini berarti hasil belajar setelah pembelajaran lebih besar dari sebelum pembelajaran. Simpulan penelitian ini bahwa model pembelajaran partisipatif motivasional efektif diimplementasikan pada pendidikan keaksaraan fungsional orang dewasa masyarakat pedesaan sebagai upaya keberhasilan pendidikan keaksaraan fungsional di msyararakat. The purposes of this research are: 1) to describe learning implementation of functional literacy conducted by study group in rural community, 2) to produce motivational participatory learning model of advanced functional literacy, 3) to validate motivational participatory learning model of advanced functional literacy education for rural society, and 4) to examine the effectiveness of motivational participatory learning model of advanced functional literacy education for rural society. This study was R & D research. The procedures of this research consisted of three steps. The first step was preliminary study. The second step was model development. The third step was evaluation of the effectiveness of model. In preliminary study, there were literature review and field study used for collecting data. The data collection in this preliminary study was conducted by reviewing the obtained data of interview, observation, and documentation qualitatively and descriptively. In the second step, prototype model consisted of model development with ADDIE model, tutor and learner guidance, and learning video were developed to be validated. In the third step, the experiment of pretest and posttest of control group design was conducted. There were 66 research subjects consisting of 32 leaners as experimental group, and 34 leaners as control group. Research intruments used in this study were test and instrumens of learning motivation. Data analysis technique in this research employed T-test. The results of this research and development study were: 1) Implementation of learning activities depends on the competencies and skills possessed by the tutor. 2) The developmental steps of motivational participatory learning model include guidance of familiarity, identification of learning needs, formulation of learning objectives, preparation of learning activities, implementation of learning activities, process assessments and learning outcomes. 3) Learning technology validity and learning materials in model product prototype gained high level category. 4) The motivational participatory learning model was effective to improve motivation and learning achievement of advanced functional literacy. This effectiveness proved by the significant improvement of learning motivation including attention, relevance, and self satisfactory. Futhermore, the average score of study group in experimental group gained pretest=7,82 < posttest=8,39. It meant that learning achievement after conducting experiment was higher than that before the experiment. It could be concluded that the model of motivational participatory learning was effective to be implemented in literacy education as an effort to gain aceleration and achievement of functional education in the societies.
