    Abstract

    ABSTRACT Sulistya Ardiani Kusumastuti. K7114176. The Improvement of Observation Report Writing Skill through The Application of Experiential Learning Model (Classroom Action Research in the Fifth Grade Students of Tegalsari No.60 Surakarta State Primary School at The Academic Year 2017/2018). Minithesis, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, July 2018. The purpose of the research is to improve the observasion report writing skill by applying Experiential Learning model on the fifth grade students of Tegalsari No.60 Surakarta state primary school at the academic year 2017/2018. The type of the research is classroom action research (CAR), it consists of two cycle. Each cycle consists of two time and each time consists of four phases, they are planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research are the teacher and the fifth grade students of Tegalsari No.60 Surakarta state primary school at the academic year 2017/2018, the total number consists of 21 students. The data collecting techniques are interview, observation, documentation, and test. The data validity techniques of the research is content validity. The data analysis techniques is interactive analysis model (Mile & Huberman), it consists of four components, they are data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclucion drawing or verification. The result of this research, shows that the application of Experiential Learning model can improve the observation report writing skill in the fifth grade students of Tegalsari No.60 Surakarta state primary school at the academic year 2017/2018. It can be proved by the increasing of the observation report writing skill for each cycle. The percentage of completeness is 14,3% or 3 of 21 students achieved KKM. At the firt cycle the percentage of completeness is 66,7% or 14 of 21 students achieved KKM. At the second cycle the percentage of completeness is 85,7% or 18 of 21 students achieved KKM. The conclusions of the research shows that applying Experiential Learning model can improve the observation report writing skill by applying Experiential Learning model on the fifth grade students of Tegalsari No.60 Surakarta state primary school at the 2017/2018. Applying Experiential Learning model is appropritate with the teoritical study has been done for two cycles can improve the skill of observation report writing skill by applying Experiential Learning model on the fifth grade students of Tegalsari No.60 Surakarta state primary school at the academic year 2017/2018.
