    Abstract

    Mufid Islam. 2018. This thesis introduction are titled Central Javanese Kris Illustration Book Designing as Culture Preservation for High School Student and Above. As for the problems that has been reviewed is (1) How to plan a strategy to introduce and educate as a form of preservation efforts of Central Javanese Kris for high school students and above (2) How to design an effective Central Javanese Kris Illustration Book support media that also help to introduce one of Indonesian native culture, that is Central Javanese Kris to all Indonesian society in general, especially the young generation. The purpose of this plan is designing an illustration book about Central Javanese Kris that can attract the attentions of young generation to introduce and educate one of Indonesian native culture that has been approved by the world (UNESCO), the method has used in this research is qualitative descriptive, as the hope for the future, young generation could preserve and develope the native Indonesian ancestor legacies. The media contain informations about history, Kris component, how to make them, ethics in Kris, etc. The media are not just informative, but should also have aesthetic value to attract the target audience. Trough this illustration book, will help the young generation to regocnize and learn more about Indonesian native ancestor legacy, Kris, as a form of culture preservation effort.
