    Abstract

    ABSTRACT WIDI RASTI AFANIE, D0214103, MEDIA RELATIONS HUMAS SIPA COMMUNITY (Qualitative Descriptive Study of Media Relations Activities of SIPA Community Public Relations to Improve 2017 Solo International Performing Art (SIPA) Publication). Regional event development is increasing rapidly, as well as in the city of Surakarta. Solo International Performing Arts (SIPA) 2017 is one of them. Although the international level is not in accordance with the level of media presence in this event. The media present only came from local media. So that this caused a low cover of news and also low publications for the Solo International Performing Arts (SIPA) 2017. This study aims to find out the description of the implementation of SIPA Community PR media relations activities to improve the publication of Solo International Performing Arts (SIPA). This study uses the theory presented by Ruslan and Nurudin, namely the theory of formal media relations, as well as theories about informal media relations delivered by Sawaliana and Rahman and Olga. This research is a qualitative research with interview and literature study method. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Using the triangulation data validation method and data analysis techniques with interactive models. This research was carried out in two locations namely SIPA secretariat and on Solopos. From the results of this study it can be concluded that SIPA Community public relations is more likely to conduct formal media relations activities as delivered by Ruslan and Nurudin. The media relations activities that have been carried out are press conferences, press receptions, press interviews supported by several tools to increase publications such as newsletters and brochures, special events, annual reports, sponsorship, posters, advertisements, programs and leaflets. Whereas for informal media relations as expressed by Olga, Sawaliana and Rahman. SIPA Community Public Relations has not used an interpersonal approach with journalists.
