THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL INTEGRATING WITH ICT MEDIA TO IMPROVE STUDENT CRITICAL THINKING SKILL IN ACCOUNTING LEARNING OF VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL IN BOYOLALI. Thesis. Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Soetarno Joyoatmojo, M.Pd. Co-supervisor: Dr. Sudiyanto, M.Pd. Master Program in Economics Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. ABSTRACT This study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of class X students Accounting Department on Basic Banking materials in Vocational High School in Boyolali through the implementation of Problem Based Learning model using ICT media. This research is an action research. The subjects of the study is 72 10th grader accounting students of SMK N 1 Boyolali and 71 10th grader accounting students of SMK N 1 Banyudono. Data collecting technique includes observations, interviews, documentations, and tests. Data validity checking by technique and sources triangulation. The result shows that the implementation of problem based learning model utilizing ICT media could increase the critical thinking ability Vocational High School in Boyolali subdistrict. The critical thinking ability of SMKN 1 Boyolali students improved in aspect of formulizing questions which increased from 73.24% in cycle I to 90.14% in cycle II, argument giving aspect which increased from 69.01% in cycle I to 88.73% in cycle II, information collecting and compilation which increased from 76.06% in cycle I to 92.96% in cycle II, problem analysis aspect which increased from 61.97% in cycle I to 85.92% in cycle II, and decision making and conclusion making ability aspect which also increased from 64.79% in cycle I to 83.10% in cycle II. As for SMK N 1 Banyudono subjects, aspect of formulizing questions is increased from 60.56% in cycle I to 88.73% in cycle II, argument giving aspect is increased from 54.93% in cycle I to 85.92% in cycle II, information collecting and compilation which increased from 74.65% in cycle I to 90.14% in cycle II, problem analysis aspect which increased from 74.65% in cycle I to 90.14% in cycle II, and decision making and conclusion making ability aspect which also increased from 52.11% in cycle I to 80.28% in cycle II. As a conclusion, the learning process that apply problem based learning model utilizing ICT media could improve the critical thinking of students of accounting program in vocational high school in Boyolali.
